Q & A

How do you define your role as a healthcare administrator?

As a healthcare administrator, I define my role as providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure that healthcare organizations deliver safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care while meeting regulatory, financial, and organizational goals. I plan, direct, and coordinate key business activities—such as budgeting, staffing, policy development, and quality improvement—so that clinical and administrative functions work seamlessly together in support of patients and providers. I serve as a bridge between executives, medical staff, and frontline teams, aligning resources, processes, and technology with the organization’s mission, regulatory requirements, and community needs.

How do you measure success?

I measure success by the impact I have on people and outcomes, not just by activity or effort. I look at whether goals are clearly defined, achieved on time, and aligned with the broader mission and values of the organization. I also consider the quality of relationships built along the way—trust, collaboration, and communication are key indicators that I’m leading and contributing effectively. Finally, I view success as continuous growth: learning from feedback, improving systems and processes, and consistently delivering better results over time.

What drives you professionally?

I am driven professionally by creating meaningful, measurable impact for the people and organizations I serve. I care about solving complex problems, building trust, and delivering results that clearly move a mission forward. I’m motivated by continuous growth—refining my skills, learning new approaches, and embracing feedback so that I can operate at a higher level over time. I’m also driven by integrity and excellence, which means following through on commitments, doing what’s right even when it’s hard, and holding myself to a consistently high standard of performance.
